For over 15 years, I navigated a world where the clarity of speech eluded me. Despite these persistent challenges, I persevered, thriving in every aspect of my education and professional pursuits. It was a life where words were blurred, yet resilience and determination prevailed.

Discovering the Unseen:

In a pivotal moment of self-discovery, my journey took an unexpected turn. The revelation of my hearing loss unearthed the hidden roots of my speech comprehension challenges that had persisted for over 15 years. This revelation was accompanied by a period of grieving and temporarily giving up on my dreams for seven years. However, it also ignited an unwavering passion within me to make a profound difference and shed light on the unique struggles faced by the deaf and hard of hearing community.

A Catalyst for Change:

Recognizing the critical need for advocacy and support, I gratefully embraced the esteemed position of Commissioner for the Georgia Commission for the Deaf or Hard of Hearing, appointed by the governor of Georgia.

Additionally, I am honored to serve as a dedicated board member for the Hearing Loss Association of America. These influential roles position me at the forefront of the fight for access, equity, and opportunity for the deaf and hard of hearing community across America.

These transformative initiatives ensure that the deaf and hard of hearing community can fully participate in every facet of life, fostering an environment of equality, understanding, and spiritual connection.
